Good, But Not Great
I got this game yesterday and though I havent been playing it for very long, I have been able to notice a few shortcomings. First of all, the graphics sould stand some improvement. While I understand that this is an Apple rendition of an older game, the graphics (even at 1440 resolution on my 27" iMac) could be less smudgy and pixelated. Secondly, I cant seem to locate a map. Previous games in this series had a map that you could access by pressing the Tab button. If this game also has a map, its very difficult to locate. Thirdly, the toggling between the flashlight and the weapon is very inconvenient. Since most of the game takes place in the dark, which I am not complaining about, it would be convenient for there to be a flashlight that can be attached to a weapon so that you dont have to alternate when an enemy attack is imminent. If the interntion of this is to make the game more challenging, it does so in a very awkward and un-user-friendly way. I guess that last one is just a personal preference.
Still, if youre a fan of the franchise (as I have been for many years) and you like a game with lots of startling battles as well as a decent story, this is well worth the $10 even with the problems I mentioned before.
