its really a great game but its not for the faint of heart or young children as it is underrated and will gibe younger children nightmares but the graphics are good an stuf so it a good buy

Had to get this as I was a fan of the original Doom games from years back. Never having played Doom 3 before I was hoping this game would provide the same kind of fun I had playing Ultimate Doom. Ive only just started playing and already Im happy with this purchase. Doom 3 runs very well on my MacBook Pro. I did have some problems with screen tearing at first but turning on V-sync in the Advanced Options eliminated this problem and the game is now running pretty smooth. I like this better than Quake 4, which I found to not run quite so well. Ultimately, I think at $9.99 Doom 3 is a great buy. Good job Aspyr!

Ive installed this on both my MacBook Pro and 11" MacBook Air and it runs perfectly on both systems. I played this back then on the original Xbox and I have to say that its great to be able to play this with high res graphics the way it was meant to be played.

Just started playing the game, but I can say that on my macbook pro 17in, it runs on max settings and rez (1900x1200, no AA) with completely smooth performance. No problems launching, and, so far, no crashes. Game has a spooky ambience. Its an intersting looking horror/fps, with a flair of adventure gaming thrown in. The 5 stars is for game performance, and gameplay potential. How fun the game continues to be will be seen.

Had to let internal speakers do the job instead of my external ones…this should be fixed..or at least inform the buyer before he/she purchases the product..very weak programming there.

I have a mac mini 2011 with a graphic card Intel HD 3000 and 2Gbs of RAM, but the game once intalled doesnt work. Nothing appear on screen when i try to start it, the game just crash and load at infinity and i must force it to quit. JUST STAY AWAY FROM THAT OF JUNK, YOU WILL WASTE 10$.

Love the graphics and the old Doom feel, and the game keeps you coming back for more!!!

No sound till the gameplay starts up.. then a horrible sound following.. so sad ;-/

this game is great. i am a fan of the original dooms so this grabbed my attention. it is fun and scary. but it is very underrated and is very gory. it can get a little repetitive. but other than that its a good game.

this is a really well done remake of the game. updated graphics are great. one thing i would like to see in the future is a port of doom 3: resurrection of evil. i strongly believe that would make a lot of people happy!

Please patch this game. Whenever I switch the resolution the image expand bigger than the screen. This game basically cannot be played on the retina MacBook Pro. Even lower resolutions only fill up a quarter of the screen I just bought this game please fix it! Thanks

Would have given 5 stars, but I cant get any sound to work. OS X 10.8.2 3.4 GHz i7 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 RAM

Im on a MacBook Pro running OSX 10.8. The trackpad is working.

I got this game yesterday and though I havent been playing it for very long, I have been able to notice a few shortcomings. First of all, the graphics sould stand some improvement. While I understand that this is an Apple rendition of an older game, the graphics (even at 1440 resolution on my 27" iMac) could be less smudgy and pixelated. Secondly, I cant seem to locate a map. Previous games in this series had a map that you could access by pressing the Tab button. If this game also has a map, its very difficult to locate. Thirdly, the toggling between the flashlight and the weapon is very inconvenient. Since most of the game takes place in the dark, which I am not complaining about, it would be convenient for there to be a flashlight that can be attached to a weapon so that you dont have to alternate when an enemy attack is imminent. If the interntion of this is to make the game more challenging, it does so in a very awkward and un-user-friendly way. I guess that last one is just a personal preference. Still, if youre a fan of the franchise (as I have been for many years) and you like a game with lots of startling battles as well as a decent story, this is well worth the $10 even with the problems I mentioned before.

Grpahics are pretty good, given the number of years that game came out… You have to max up the video settings in order to appreciate it. I struggled a bit at first to get the display full screen on my mac book pro retina. You just have to toggle with tab+cmd twice and it will work. At 5$, its a must !!

If you have a Retina-display equipped Mac which also happens to have "Automatic Graphics Switching" turned on, Doom 3 will not display properly in 10.8.2. To fix it, simply uncheck "Automatic graphics switching" in the Energy Saver preferences. Enjoy :)

It is running perfectly on my 15 inch macbook pro. Reminded me of old times when I was playing doom a lot. One thing surprised me though, the graphics look pretty fantastic even from todays standards where we have all kinds of AI enabled 3D games.

Downloaded the game and jumped right into playing, after reaching the broiler room the game freezes and can no longer be played. I have been a fan of DOOM ever since way back, would kind of like to finish but also want my money back. Seriously, refund me!

i give it a 4 becuase there is no controller support. please update or let me know how to use it on this game.
