Bummer, crashes immediately after runnng ID software splash screen on two computers all running El Cap..

Usually don’t write a review, but when this game is the #1 seller, I figured it wouldn’t crash and I could play it. $4.99 flushed down the drain.

Right after it finishes playing the splash video, it crashes. I’ve tried launching in fullscreen and in a window. I paid $5 for a splash video. Don’t bother.

Crashes as soon as you get to the end of the ID logo opening credits. Sure this some problem with El Capitan, but still, fix this!

Brand new Macbook Pro, all the bells and whistles, game will not start. Just crashes within 10 seconds of starting. Will not have an inernet connection for the next month so troubleshooting not an option. Waste of $5. Probably a pretty sweet game though. Looking into refund right now before checking out of hotel.

Passed all requirements but one (1.6Ghz need 1.8ghz) on my MacBook Air early 2015 edition. The website ran their check and said “Might” play. Well, “Might” isn’t “Will” or “Won’t”. Took a chance and lost $5.

Bought this as an “Editor’s Choice” and the game won’t even up. Goes into the id Software intro and then immediately closes. Can’t even use an “Editor’s Choice” app that was paid for. VERY annoying.

The simple fix is to disable wifi connections until you load into the main game, then re-enable it. That’s per ASPYR support. This boggles my mind that this first of all is the solution, and second of all, hasn’t been patched out. Still, I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with this game in a dark room with headphones on. Now that I can load the game.

Simply put…it crashes immediately after the initial video intro. Every time. I just bought a fully loaded new MackBook Pro last week so I don’t think that’s the issue. Requesting a refund.

Everytime I click on it to start, it can only load the iD logo. it fades to black, and it crashes. I have tried 5 different times, and it continues to do so. this needs a serious update. very disapointed.

Running OS X 10.11.1. Game crashes after id Software animatic ends (beating heart animatic), regardless of running fullscreen or windowed. A restart and reinstall does not fix this. Don’t buy until they patch and fix this.

I tried firing this game up a few days ago, but it would crash each time I got past the developer screen. I did some digging online and found out that a lot of games from this developer are having issues with El Capitan. I had to dig even further to find out that to get the game to work I had to switch off my internet connection. I have no idea why, but I was willing to give anything a shot at this point. Sure enough, when I disconnected my wifi the game started and performed great. Why did I have to do that? Does that mean no more multiplayer? Didn’t these guys get the beta testing for the new opperating system? There is also no controller support. To be fair, there was nothing in the description that said there would be, but any first person shooter that doesn’t at least have the option makes it harder for gamers like me who prefer a gamepad to the mouse and keyboard. Even if your Mac meets the system requirments, I’d exercise caution with purchainsg this game.

Crashes on start up for both full screen and windowed. Frustrating to buy something from a front-and-center ad on the App Store and not have it work at all.

I should have read recent reviews, does nothing but crash on my mac pro running yosemite.

I grew up playing Doom on the PC, which is the main reason I bought this game. Only problem is it crashes before I can even get the game to launch. Do yourself a favor and buy something else!!

If you’re a fan of watching the ID logo sequence and don’t want the bother of acatually playing a game, then this is the titile for you. Crashes. Every. Single. Time.

Downloaded it, paid for it, I get the ID intro clip, then it exits. No message, no nothing. Waste of money.

Was excited to see this game at the reduced price. I loved it years ago. I ran the system checker GameAgent on their website. Machine Passed and said WILL RUN on this machine. Game launches then crashes after the splash video. I feel like I just got taken for $5.00. Too bad I really want to play this game! Maybe (not) someone wil fix this.
